That's so cool. I love seeing the different animals getting along together like that.
Could you do me a favor? would you take a full picture of Lola? I'm curious about something. She looks like a dog we had when I was little. I know we must have had Keena for a long time because my mom talked about when I was 3 taking me to the back door and calling her, giving me a handful of fur, and telling Keena, "Take her to the shop." and that dog would take me down the driveway around the big metal shop to the door where my dad was working. When I was done, the dog would be waiting on the stoop and he would send me back to the house!
I always thought she was a husky (not the wolf looking kind) can't think of the name. But man, Lola reminds me of her.
I would love to have a LGD, but everyone talks about them barking all night and I can't stand that. So I'm not sure it would work for us.
Thanks for the memories.

Shawn, Keena sounds like she was a wonderful dog! We had an old fashioned farm collie, when I was growin up. Out of many, many dogs, she had always been number one in my memory/heart... there was also an import german shepherd named yaga that was a close second. NOW, LOLA is well on her way to being *the best-est dog in the world ;D ) she and Bob Barker (her brother, both fixed! got them from a local goat guy. They are his 4th gen. LGD. Got them for $75 each. I picked them up at six weeks, they were raised in the doe pen and are excellent with all the stock) They just turned one in may. Bob is goofy and silly, where Lola is quite & serious. Bob however turns into head of security at the first sign of potential danger for the goats, chickens, actually any of the farm family. Bob rushes forward, Lola moves the herd to safety and stands in front of them. (in case something gets by Bob) ..... they do bark a lot at night (quite during the day) BUT... if you go out and really listen or look with the flashlight, you'll ALWAYS hear or see something. (granted sometimes it's nothing I would think of as a bump in the night...but Bob decides what is worth barking at, not me LOL) I leave a radio going 24/7 in the barn...no loud, just enough to cover the itty bitty noises at night. It cut night-time barking by at least 50%!
here's a couple shots of Lola and one of Bob (in all his dumb young boy dog glory LOL)
