Just thought I'd show you some pics, since DD had her out in the yard yesterday with the camera. I didn't know until later that she had her tied to the trampoline and was crawling/bouncing taking pics of her. Guess it shows you the horse has developed a lot of trust in her little owner. ;D (And yes, I know, this is not the way you should tie out your horse)
So here are the pics, at a slightly cattywompus angle, taken by an 8 year old.
I think here she's expressing her opinion of the whole photo shoot!
And DD actually got some good closeups of the eye issue.
These show the "covering" is like a contact lens on her eye.
This one shows the white spot that's visible when you face her head on.
And then one of the happy horse owner.
We have attended four riding lessons. Best 100 bucks I ever spent! DD has learned so much and as her confidence has grown, you can see the pony respond, too.
Every night when I feed Skittles, I have been working with her on one simple thing. She likes to swing her right side away from you to protect it, I think. So as I approach her right side, while she's eating her grain, I have worked with her until I can now walk up to her, pet her, place my hand on her rump, move around her to the other side, pet her left side and she no longer swings before I get to her, nor dances away when I go on the other side. We're almost to the point that I can stroke over her rump without her flinching. Most times she doesn't, but we're not quite all the way yet. Boy, has that simple little thing made a huge difference in saddling her. The last time I saddled her up, which was probably the first time we'd had her under saddle for a while (she rides bareback in her lessons) she practically fell asleep standing there. So much of an improvement from the swinging back and forth the first few times. I am so proud of Skittles. I think she's finally realizing we're ok.
Any thoughts on the eye thing?
