So I've been complaining about Eddie not being able to "reach" on AnnaBelle because she seems to be coming in to heat every three weeks and they try and have fun.
Today Mike dragged me over to see that indeed, she's building an udder. Matter of fact, it looked almost identical to the pic Lesli posted of her heifer the first time. Hmm...?
From things Lesli said in her recent posts about her heifer and building an udder, at one point she said her dad thought the heifer was maybe cystic?
AnnaBelle "seemed" to have come into heat and then 10 days later she was caught riding another cow out there, however, that was the extent of it. I think maybe the other heifer was in heat to cause that at least.
I was thinking Honey might've gotten bred by Eddie back in April because he was interested in her until then, but never has been since. When I was looking tonight at AnnaBelle's new udder though, I noticed Honey's udder is flat as a pancake. She's a heifer and could be, maybe, four months along? But obviously not, with nothing at all happening back there. I wonder why he's not bothering her any more. Or Eddie hasn't done anything with anyone and well, that's that.
Anyway, am I right then, in my beliefs, based on what I read before, she could be building an udder and still going in to heat if she's cystic? For what it's worth, I believe AnnaBelle was being nursed on as a baby in with a bunch of other babies, when we got her at 7 months old, she already had a bit of an udder. So it's been kinda hard to tell she's building but today it was pretty obvious.
