And it's so ridiculous! I predicted it! I told both parents that it would happen! It was inevitable! My exact words were, "Before winter is over Cody will be the boss cow. He's a bull and he's got horns so he will fight to get to the top and she will let him win." Why then does it make me LIVID when Cody uses his horns to bully Bonnie and she gives way?! I just want to jump in and make him respect her! When Bonnie would run him away from the food my mother would get upset because she was "stealing from the baby" but I always told her it's the way of cows. He doesn't nurse anymore so he's becoming a buddy, not the baby. Now he's becoming the boss and I'm having a hard time staying out of it. How dare he be mean to her! She's MY BONNIE!! FYI, I make it a point to enforce my space and he is skittish with me. He's always aware of where I am and is prepared to give way with no prodding.
They've been cooped up together since October with nothing to do but I remembered to buy a ball (boat bumper) today, to give him something else to shove around, and I hope it helps. It only took him 2 hours to try and horn it but when it moved he spooked and sneaked away.
I wasn't sure I'd be able to sell him but May really can't some soon enough! I hope his new family is ready for him by then cause I am getting tired of him. His new family has a Dexter cow with horns so it will at least be a fair fight!
Thanks, just needed to vent to people who won't give me looks ( ).
