Trey came home for a long Thanksgiving Vacation. He has stayed super busy with his brother ds -Chase and his Dad (DH) and they have built some pretty great pens for the pigs. We have limited funds, but DH is great at improvising. And he is a welder (previously by trade). When we find the camera, (temporarily misplaced it since Thanksgiving... ) we will take some pictures. But he used LOTS of T post quite close together and cattle panels for the height, he welded a galvanized pipe to the bottoms of all the panels to help keep them rigid.
He will be adding hot fence to the top or Squeaks will stand up and push on the top of the panel. If Squeaks pushes too much he will be adding a hot fence to the inside.
He also used galvanized pipe to build nice gates that swing either way in or out, which have already proven themselves invaluable! I have teased him in the past about 'his signature gate' (wired up with wire for the hinge) and I think it stuck in his craw. But these are mighty fine with hinges!
He also built a long cattle panel "chute" or hallway for the cows to bypass the hog pens and go to the smaller fenced area when we want to especially contained with more room and a round bale. This also is a 4 foot wide barrier to keep the wild hogs just far enough back hopefully to not cause problems with illnesses and such. I am so proud of all of the guys, Rich and boys.
We will be adding a covered area that will be a run in protection for the cows/and or hogs, and two farrowing houses before March 6
