well we went to the clinton county fair this year for the first time with some of our jerseys and holsteins. we had a great time, it was a laid back fair with lots of good people in the barns and neighbors we hadn't met yet. it was also cheaper and less stressful then some of the bigger shows. we had a great show day- we had 1st place spring calf, 1st and third place fall yearling. Erin the winning fall yearling also was reserve jr. champion- she was also the youngest in her class. We also won jr. 3 yearold with Sultry and best udder... she also was HM Grand Champion. Most exciting of all we won produce of dam (two daughters from one cow) with Memory's two daughters Miley and Merlot. Memory is my old show cow and this was the first time since she was born she was not shown. We also were 2nd in Dam and Daughter with Sultry and Sultana and First in Jr. Best 3 Females (3 heifers you've breed (Sultana, Miley, and Merlot). Anyone with any interest in registered cattle I highly recommend bringing animals to your local county fair. The commraderie among these people is incredible and they aren't just big farmers. I also had to opportunity to be the official for the 4-H judging competition and got my cows professionaly pictured.. I will post when I get the digital file. Here are a few pictures from the week- I'll post more later in the picture section.
