What happened to my nice cow? This is the cow I got in Sept, never been milked, did the learning to milk rodeo (learning for both of us cuz I'd never milked b4 either). All was fine and dandy after two months. I can milk her without getting kicked, I could even let go of her rope (she is always tethered, so she has a rope) and she'd mosey on into her stanchion.
Well, about 1.5-2 weeks ago, she starts acting up. She started pooing and peeing every time I milk her. (you should see my vegetables growing thanks to all that pee!!). Last Friday, a week ago, she took off running down the road and had herself a lovely little jog while me and my boys were running after her (me in horror imagining if she ate the neighbors newly planted coconut trees!!). She has tried to run off a couple of other times. Of course you know you can't win a tug of war contest with a cow!!! So what is going on? If you remember, I am the one who doesn't know if she is prego or not. The farmer who sold her to me said she was which means she would be due sometime very soon. and then when I had a vet come out to check her, I told him there was a 3ft icicle hanging down when I got there, so he didn't even touch her, just told me to get her bred that day. So I brought her down to the bull that day and also for 5 days, day 18-22 after that icicle day. So, I am pretty sure she is prego. Does a prego cow go silly like this?? (she would be 3.5 mos prego if the first time with the bull took) I don't really mind the poo and the pee (like I said, my garden is doing great). But the pulling me around is really old (got a nasty rope burn). So, all you wonderfully smart people, tell me whazzup!!!
