ok, so we bought tira in the end of october. she had been bred aug 31, not confirmed and then hauled for ten hours to the cow trader we bought her from. we knew going into it that she would probably have lost the calf, but her quality was above and beyond anything that we had seen and we were in love with her. ok so we brought her home late at night after her long trip and the next morning she had a small smear of blood on her tail. miscarriage right? she is our first and only cow, so detecting heat has been a challenge. she has not been any more vocal ever so we were tracking when she had clear mucus on her tail, which has been consistently 18 days apart. so we felt confident in calling the ai tech. she came out and bred her, did not say anything other than she had not ovulated yet. so then 5 days later i posted here because she seemed to have lost her mind on me.... just acting all sorts of crazy! the consensus was heat and wouldn't you know it, the next day she had a small smear of blood on her tail. soooo, my question is, how on earth do i know when to breed her? she had mucus yesterday, so then do i wait for her to go crazy again? she has only acted like that once in the couple of months we have had her. and really truly honestly if you asked me (newbie of course) i would say she is pregnant by looking at her... well she is shaped alot like my mom's pregnant goat... lol she isn't fat anywhere except for her wide belly. there is NO way she is pregnant right? between the blood and the ai tech, i can say for sure, right? she is open and just weird? help me please? i can post pics of her wideness if you want lol!
