Well guys the last time you heard from me I had shipped my cows off to my Bil's for the summer to get bred.
Well we had to go down twice to help get the cows to the right places to eat and to a bull and by the end of summer they were all pretty wild and would see you and run. Now they are back at my farm and I have to say I am really proud of my Scarlett..
She is going to turn into a really nice milk cow. Even though we had to dehorn her late which was very traumatic, she still let me catch her and pet her. And for being gone all summer she just stands there and lets me pet her all over her, even her udder without being tied. I am so hoping that she is bred. I haven't seen any signs of heat from her so far and it's been a month and a half. (cross fingers) I'm not sure when she will calve either. I took her to Bil's first week of June and got her back the first week of Sept.
So everyone pray that she took sometime in June which would mean fresh milk sooner!!!!
I will get a Pic of her soon and post it..
This is back in March when we dehorned her
Bull calf right after birth.
Bull calf today, isn't he handsome?? He is the calmest bull I have ever seen. Raised by is mother, I have not touched him but he doesn't run to the far end of the fence when you go to feed him like this other heifer.
Mandy last heifer, very wild!
Scarlett today. Doe she look preggers to you??
Oh thats the spot!!
Her udder
Back shot, everyone wouldn't leave her alone so that i could get a better one before dark.
Last be not least Brooke!! The gentle giant of them all.
