I sold my Kinder doe over a week ago now, to a gal who I thought was going to be a great owner for her. The doe is not registered, was a rescue that came from a very questionable past, but has come a long ways with me in the nearly 2 years she had been with me, is very healthy, and proven to be a wonderful milk doe. But, hubby hates the goats, and has begged me to find an alternative for our dairy needs, hence Molly.
Anyway, I had advertised the doe 'as is', explained in detail all about her, and asked $150 for her in milk. The woman KNEW what she was, paid for her, took her home, and has milked her. Today, she gets in touch with me and said that she was not what she thought she was (even tried to tell me that she's NOT kinder, and I know for a fact she is), that her teats are too small, it hurts her to milk her, and on and on. She came at me with a whole list of reasons why she didn't refuse to take her from me when she met me to pick her up, and how she's mad at herself for buying her.
So, now she's asking me to take her back. AND she's asking me to resell her, and reimburse her. The soft side of me says okay, but the reasonable side of me says this is unreal! I love the goat, and care about her enough to be highly concerned about her not getting milked out correctly, and becoming ill. I WILL take her back, but should I be expected to pay this woman back? At least all of it? I am now going to have to feed the goat again, and milk her twice a day. I put off several interested folks because of this woman, and now, they most likely are not going to be happy to hear that I still have her, and be suspicious (you have to be in buying goats, unfortunately), and she will likely be difficult to sell now. *I* am okay with keeping her, but hubby really wants the goats gone, and we've made quite a few plans now, without goats in the picture, so this is not going to go well with the family.
Ideas? Thoughts? Am I being stupid?
