Oh yeah!! I got my order in! I had to order from two diff. places, but that's ok.

I did my "big" order from Territorial after reading about dang near everything (descriptions) they had to offer and I did a smaller order for seed potatoes from some place called Ronniger.

I went to www.myalmanac.com yesterday. You can input your zip code and get it to bring up the perfect planting time for everything you are wanting to plant! I did that too.

I just can't wait to start planting. I had Mike till the garden up yesterday (our tiller pulls behind the mower so no "foot" action there).

Now, I know there's no tomatoes on there. Last year we had more popping up than we could handle. I'm sure that'll happen again, but also our local hardware store puts out some tomato plants are just fine. I'll be picking those up from there, some slicers and some romas. My herbs will all come from there too.

LOL! They didn't say they were named after President Clinton, but who knows?! I read most of the descriptions for cukes and decided those were the ones I wanted. There were these tiny cukes, but those would've just been for fun and no pratical use for me personally, so I skipped them.
I'm one of those people that'd RATHER be planting lil' tiny veggies because they're 'cute', colored carrots and tomatoes because of the neat looking salad you could have later... etc. Not really practical...but hey... at least I didn't order TOO much stuff like that (this time).

I know I ordered little carrots, but I justified that by saying last time our regular carrots didn't grow well with our dirt (long) and I could just clean and pop in the short fat carrots when using the crock pot pretty easily.
I have absolutely NO justification for the blue potatoes. They looked REALLY pretty though.

Janene, get it on it lady! Planting time is just around the corner!! And THEN make sure you post on here what you ordered so I can see and then later, when you post about how they did or tasted, I can write it all down for next years' garden! ;D

The UPS truck has been coming in on a steady basis bringing in boxes of seeds for us. I have mixed feelings! While I am ready for spring and love to work in the garden, the summer is a crazy time for us.

Well, Tammy, you guys plant a HUGE garden though, don't you so you can sell veggies? I'm envious! I hope ours just does well enough for me to put some in the freezer this year (and maybe a few jars if I get there with that!). Your garden sounds like an awful lot of fun!

Well, Janene, it's been all day long now....did you put that order in? ;D I'll just keep harassing you about it till you do. You've got to POST what you buy! I wanna see too!

Tammy, I'm betting there's no way you could post it all, but I sure would be curious as to the best loved brocolli by your husband and customers and at least one more BEST loved item (big seller?).

Yes, we put in a large garden. The garden seed is just a fraction of our cost. The seed for the cash crops and garden seeds all together will cost several thousand dollars for all three farms.

Our favorite broccoli is Pac Man and it seems to do better in the fall (that particular variety). The folks around here are crazy about green beans. We sell mostly Blue Lake but we have some older ladies that won't buy anything but half runners. We plant three acres of potatoes.........mostly Kennebec but we also plant Yukon Gold and we like to plant Norland Reds for an early crop to sell by the pound at the produce stand.

I'm getting worried, I ordered my seeds 2 weeks ago and they still haven't arrived. Anyone else having problems with delayed deliveries?

We're not getting that weather here! We did get lucky and have it in the low 60's yesterday and looks like it will be again today. I hope to have some left over seeds and some saved seeds from this years' garden. The mice ate everything I had this last time so I'm starting over (with a nice metal coffee can in mind to save this years seeds!).

I don't know how long they will take Joelle to arrive. Territorial said they already sent them out, the potato place said they are only sending twice in Feb. so I imagine those will be here "eventually". I hope I don't have a long delay though. I'm ready!! What did you end up ordering?

Tim, sounds like a great selection. I like you how you bought a couple of each type, some for storage and some for eating fresh. Good thinking!

I save mine in a ziploc in the freezer. The colder they are the longer they keep. I had the mice get in them in previous years, though. Everything was labeled and intact this year. One bag for spring garden, one summer seeds and one for flowers.

We got the garden tilled into rows today and I planted my peas and some lettuce outside. I started a tray of broccoli, carrots, spinach, several kinds of lettuce (red sails is my favorite!) cabbage...I think that's it.

I get giddy at garden time!

Nice! My seed potatoes came in today. These potatoes have so many eyes on them, some even starting to sprout. I'm really happy with these potatoes. They are better than the ones I got last year! The blue ones I bought on a whim are especially filled with eyes! I can't wait to get to planting them!
