Well, the first one I know about, anyway. Dot's our "baby" cat - the one with only 3 good legs. He's a year and a half old now, but he's so small, we still think of him as a baby.
I opened the door last evening to see if he wanted in yet and he was playing on the walk. I thought he had a piece of bark he was throwing up in the air and pouncing on, and I couldn't get his attention. I wanted him to come in for his dinner (he gets meat scraps when I feed the dogs). Since I didn't have my shoes on, I asked Rich to please go take that piece of bark away from him and bring him in, so he went out and looked and said, "It's not a piece of bark, it's a rat." I said, "A RAT? We don't have rats." So he looked again and said, "You're right, it's a vole," and picked it up by its stubby little tail. It was still limp, so Dot must have just killed it. I told Rich to go ahead and leave Dot out, and maybe he'd eat it.
A little while later, after I'd fed the dogs, Pippin, Gizzy, and Puma (3 of the other cats) wanted out, so I let them out. Dot was busy chowing down on the vole. Then a bit later, Rich went to let Kato (another cat) out and told me that all 3 of the other cats were sitting in a circle around Dot, watching him eat! LOL! None of them tried to take his "rat" away from him! He's little, but he's fierce!
I don't know why, but I just felt really proud of him for finding his own dinner last night. Most of the other cats hunt, but I've never seen Dot catch anything. He's pretty fast on those 3 legs, but he's still slower than if he had all 4. My little baby is growing up. ;D
