Here are our three July kids. All out of our Senior Nubian herdsire, Rudy. He's naturally polled but all three of these kids are horned.
Ghiradelli's (Della) buck kid born on his due date. He is 7/8 Nubian, 1/16 LaMancha/Alpine, 1/16 Saanen. Do you see the Alpine? lol His family line has the same two tone coloration, just different colors. His dam Della (2 year old, 2nd F), yesterday evening before being milked;
Her dam, Milk Way, is the doe in my avatar. She has a light brown front with a dark brown rear. They all have that spot in the back color of the lighter color on their flank and then down the legs.
JayJay (8 year old Alpine) delivered her twins on Friday...when I was supposed to be at work...on the day I cannot be late for work...grrr. I had hoped for triplets, but was figuring twins. She was big enough to be housing quads, but just had never felt that full with kids when I bumped her. I milked about 6 pounds of colostrum out of mainly one half of her udder the evening she kidded. she is one of my favorite milk does. I'm milking a daught of her's out of Rudy currently. Have a twin sister to that doe and now two younger full sisters as well.
1st born...your typical NuPine ears.
2nd born...her ears are a little bit longer but will still be airplane ears.
3 days apart in age.
Two does due to our Fullblood Boer buck on 8/3 and another on 8/5. Maybe that is all I get but there could be a couple of straggles through August.
Of course, it is time to start breeding again...Looks like we aim for 30 freshening in January and most of the rest (30+) in March/April. Not sure I like the July/August kiddings...way too hot for the girls and the
These three bring the total to 42 bucks and 44 does born since December 21st.
