goat kids! ;D Janene and I. My family showed up at Janene's today. We met in person for the first time. I thoroughly enjoyed it!!
I hadn't posted about Janene's and my loss of the little buck she first picked-our little brown one, kids called him Sandy. He went off his feed one day, while in with his twin brother and mum. He just wanted to lay around but would get up if prodded. He had no bloating at all and no scours. I just have no idea what could have happened to him. We planned on taking him to the vet the next day if he wasn't better, but he died during the night. Apparent sick time was less than a day. I actually took pictures of him the evening before and he was eating well.
Janene took it well and accepted Willie instead. Willie is the black headed boer looking little buck. He is very personable too, loves scritches and scratches behind his stinky little horns. He is about 4 months old now, and I dare say quite the Casanova. Janene's doe's were not impressed. I don't know ** why** oh why didn't I take pictures of them all hiding around the corner peeking at him through the slats of the wooden part of the fence and around the corner, it was too funny!! I have no doubt that he will have them warming up to him soon enough, but it was good for a laugh!
I took some pictures of her Loretta with my digi camera and I hope she will post them here. I think she is a very lovely cow!! Smaller than my Daisy. Gorgeous coloring.
Thanks Janene!!
