So, in the two years the airgas company has been filling our tank, they have never sent a bill. . . DH has phoned every time to remind them and they don't. 2 years ago they told him it was $30-60 to fill the tank, so I didn't stress. My BIL filled with airgas in September and one fill cost $180!! SO I started to fret and just got a bill for one fill and it was $180 plus $40 delivery charge!! I told DH I will refuse to pay if I get a bill for $2000 when they told me $30-60 to fill!
Has nitrogen truly gone up that much? I quit with Select Sires because they came only 3 x a year and I had to race to find a fill because they didn't come to fill it. Another time they said they would come, a communication error with a technician who didn't tell us he didn't show and the tank went dry!
We went with the local welding company but they SHIPPED our tank on a Fedex truck without our knowledge and it was gone for a week . . . And they only filled it 5 inches and charged us $60. So we hauled it 90 miles one way and they also only filled it 5 inches - it is as if they don't realize the bubbling and such doesn't mean it isn't full.
DH phoned local welders, nobody has it. So we contacted two companies 189 miles away and the one guy says if we will bring our tank he wil ship it to sioux falls and fill it for supposedly $50 AND it is a 2 week trip! . . . besides me freaking out about shipping an $800 tank (seriously, who does this?), I can't imagine him doing it all for $50.
Praxair will do it for $200 per fill!!
Select Sires will not fill my tank because I am not a customer. . . I contemplated purchasing some straws just to get it filled, but that hasn't worked in the past LOL. They brought me the wrong straws and then didn't fill it the next time.
What in the world do I do about it? Do you guys have any other suggestions? my tank is getting low and really needed a fill soon.
