Hi Everyone.
I was hoping someone can give me some suggestions for a vacuum pump.
Let me explain the situation - currently we have a Nupluse milking machine with a 3/4hp Gast vacuum pump. Our milk barn doesnt have water run to it (yet), so in the past I have been hauling the vacuum pump back back and forth. This is getting pretty old, as the GAST vacuum pump is ~60lbs and our barn is ~100+ ft from our house.
Last year we bought a smaller vacuum pump just to use for cleaning the machine inside - that way can could leave the heavy pump outside in the barn. We bough a vacuum pump similar to this one: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0021UMFF0/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
The problem we had with this one is that it would leave a oily fog in the air when it ran. I am not sure if this is normal or not, but we dont want to fog up our house while we are cleaning the machine.
Recently I have been looking for a new/better vacuum pump to fit our situation. my first thought was the 1/4hp GAST pump that used to come with the nupulse machine. That pump is available through grainer (https://www.grainger.com/product/GAST-1-4-HP-Compressor-Vacuum-Pump-4F740?functionCode=P2IDP2PCP) but the $650 price tag is a bit high.
There seems to be a bunch of vacuum pumps out there, and prices range from ~$125 - $1000+, so I was hoping someone here might have some suggestions that would fit our situation.
Once we finish building the rest of our barn out, whatever pump we get will become our backup pump, until then we will use it only to clean the machine.
Any suggestions would be great. links and such would help a ton as well.

A good pump will last you forever although I did start with two 2nd hand pumps like what you mention that were only $60 each and I learned a lot about pumps, maintenance and why I did not want oil pumps
