hey there i really need advice we had a 2 wk old calf passed on to us as the farmer didnt have the time needed for her but unfortunately the day before we got her he fed her an extra half litre milk replacer as he was out all day which started the scours and for two weeks shes been holding on by a thread we started her off not mixing milk with electolytes but the vet told us to mix them and start at 1/4 strength then work our way up from there. As the situation stands shes on 200 mls milk and 600mls vitrate every 3 hrs we've tried scourban, 3 ltrs vitrate some other probiotic scour paste stopping milk hay pellets grass everything but just cant get her going. sometimes she's bright other times she's weak you need to stand her on her feet when its feed time but then she's ok walking round after that. The thing is she hasn't got past half strength milk and electrolytes and if u bump the milk up even 50mls she scours im worried she might be lactose intolerant now and have no clue what to do next any ideas would be much appreciated as u can imagine after 2 weeks of nursing her we're pretty attached to the little bugger. Should i cut out milk completely and try n get her eating? or give her straight milk? she's 4 weeks old was eating a fair bit of hay (think that's all that's kept her going) but hasn't seemed to eat as much last 2 days vet said not to give her pellets as scours were yellow and that's carbohydrate overload but i gave her some today as shes starving we're at our wits end not knowing the best thing to do please help me...
