Hello all! I have a 4 year old Jersey in milk. My father in law bought for me as a surprise about a month and a half ago from an auction. so i don't know anything about her history. she was milking about a quart or so am and pm but it tasted bad. I got a CMT and she tested positive in all four quarters. treated her with masticlear and it cleared up till about a day after withdrawl was complete. then tested positive again. i let her go about a week and still positive treated with TODAY. same thing happened again. tested clear till day after milk with drawl was up. I started milking 3x day and massaging with peppermint, eucalyptus essentials in olive oil. the first and second day of massage her rear teat (the only one showing any sign of mastitis stringing clumps and off color) felt like it got a plug while milking. I squeezed really hard and it sort of popped and the milk shot out real hard. in the filter I got a small reddish mottled stone sort of looks like a NERDs candy in shape but a little bigger. It looks like blood but is mottled with other whitish and blue colors and very hard. i cannot squish it or break it up with my fingers or even pressing on it with the back of a spoon on the counter. there are no sharp edges, very rounded and bumpy. So I have gotten the reddish stones two times and this morning the teat was blocked completely quarter is full and I can feel another of these hard stone things in the teat end but it is bigger and Icannot squeeze it out like before. after manipulating it back up the canal a ways I was able to get some of the milk out, but it looked bloody. same thing happened tonight. has anyone ever seen this or know what it may be or how i can treat it? any info would be GREATLY apprecited! Thanks Stacie
