Okay. So we are trying to piece together a milker and it is not going well.
We thought we had everything that we needed but apparently nothing fits.
First off, the bucket. Despite being sold to us from an antique store as the buckets that the milkers fit onto.....does fit. Says Delaval, but now that I compare it to the pics online is much shorter and wider and has a MUCH larger opening. 9 and a 1/4 inches on one. 9 and a half on the other. So they are out.
Next the lid, we got a surge lid (says so on the top, has the number D020336 engraved on the side) because we were told on numerous occasions that it would fit our "deLaval" bucket. Yeah, no it doesn't, not by a long shot, and not just because . I'm beginning to think that the lid is missing a piece because the new gasket we got for it, is WAY bigger than the lid. The lid is only about 6 inches across and from what I can see from pictures online there should be a metal rim about an inch thick which doesn't seem to be on mine. Does anyone know if this can be purchased separately?
This lid has two ports on the top on that is open and one that is closed the one that is open comes about half an inch about the surface, while the one that is closed is about an inch and a half high, and has a top that looks like an open pacman mouth. I am assuming that is the side the pulsator attaches too? We have the BRK pulsator with the surge lid adapter. Is is supposed to fit snuggly? Because it wobbles all over the place. So now we are pretty much starting from scratch again, looking for a bucket and lid. I have heard on multiple sites that the surge lid fits on the delaval bucket, but have never seen any pictures of how they are put together.
Why does no one send instructions??
