we are looking to buy another milk cow to help raise all the bum calves that we are having this year. What do you think about the holstiens bag, looks a little funny to me in that rear shot?
What do you think of both of them as a whole?
Here's what she says about them.
"The holestein is 2 this year, this was her first calf, she looks like she will have enough milk for 2 calves, or will just raise 1 really nice big calf. Her mother was an excellent milker and raised 4 calves every year for us and just died at 11 years old (she raised 2 calves her last 2 years) She was an awesome cow. She is up to date on all vaccines as well as bangs. She had a holestein bull calf this year, I will sell her either way, but for the same price, as holestein bull calves are not worth that much. She is gentle, but not stantion broke yet, I usually dont do that until the following year. "
and here is the Brown Swiss
"The Brown Swiss is 5, and she is an amazing cow. My kids who are 10 and 6, milk her, feed her treats, climb on her, lead her around. She is halter broke, and stantion broke or you can just put her halter on her and tie her to a post. We have only hand milked her and then feed calves with a bucket. I dont want to ruin her bag, because she is such a nice cow. She milks 4 gallons a day, she is a great family milk cow, super, super gentle. You can catch her anywhere in the pasture, and put her halter on or just pet/scratch her all over. She is up to date on all vaccines and bangs vaccinated. She is bred back to a brown swiss bull and should calve within the next 2 weeks. We are asking $2500 for her. "
Thanks guys
