I just have a few questions. I am a new cow owner, but am very familiar with various animals, and birth. I have a Jersey, Belinda, she will be 2 in August. When I bought her, the guy who owned her said she was a "springing" heifer. I then found out she was due in August sometime. When I drove down to see her, he looked at her and said her bag was developing so nicely, that maybe it was going to be sooner than he thought ( which tells me either he is not good with recording dates, or she was bred more than once, and perhaps settled at an earlier point). I have been keeping a very good eye on her, and developments are apparent. Her udder is growing, and fetal movement very obvious just from watching her as she is lying down. I have not yet tried to "bump" the calf, but I see a very lively calf, so really didn't see the need to do so. Well, I got in touch with the guy I bought her from the other day, trying to get her registration paperwork taken care of. I asked him what the date of her breeding was, and now he is telling me it was Dec. 21, which means she won't calve untill Sept. 30th! I do not know what to think about the breeding dates he has given me. Will I be seing so much movement with a calf not due for 3 months? What about udder development in a first calf heifer? Any help or advise would be appreciated. I am so upset about this whole thing. I am attaching photos of her udder, the first 3 taken about 8-10 days ago, and the next 3 today, so you can get an idea of how she is developing. Thank you so much in advance for whatever insight you can give me.

Udder today
Maybe it is just wishful thinking on my part, but I am sure that I see development, and I know for a fact I see movement.
