Hi All
As some of you know, my DIL is expecting her 3rd child in September.
Since we moved, they're living with us and I'm milking.
DIL's ob/gyn told her no raw dairy, claiming that she'd be exposing herself to salmonella and listeria.
So at the moment, for her peace of mind, I'm buying Stonyfield organic whole milk for her.
I've tried to explain to her that you can't contract a disease from a cow that the cow doesn't have, and that these 2 particular diseases do cause symptoms in the affected cows.
I've also tried to explain how the major dairy concerns have basically brainwashed the medical community and how Monsanto has the FDA in their pocket.
But I think that DIL thinks that I'm a bit of a fanatic -- and maybe I am. If wanting to put the highest quality NATURAL food possible on the table is fanatical, then yes, I'm a fanatic.
DIL has just recently discovered the online world, so if anyone has good links that will back up what I've told her, I would be greatly appreciative.
It also might be beneficial if some of you who are pregnant now or used raw dairy while pregnant would be willing to talk with her to help alleviate her fears.
Also, I am willing to pasteurize for her, even though I think it's unnecessary. I know she'd be better of with pasteurized Pixie milk than with the store bought stuff.
And lastly, which method of pasteurization does the least damage to the milk? Can you believe that I've been milking for 6 years and I have never ever pasteurized milk?!
Thanks, I know you guys will be of great help!
