Before I go into it. I am not for husband bashing. I am not here to diss my hubby, nor would it be helpful for others to do so.
I am so worried for my husband. He is 38. He sits in a machine all day long for his career. I do not know his weight but I do know it is over 300 pounds and he is under 6 feet. 15 months ago we had to renew our life insurance. They did a check up. I passed, he failed. He had more than one thing get flagged. It took 15months for me to get him to go to the doctor just to find out what the flags were. I did not push as in that time we lost two babies and I was down. He had to do everything but school the kids. He gained even more weight during that time due to him buying most of our food premade in one way or another, and he increased his drinking three to four drinks every other night.
I went in with him. His weight. His Liver enzymes are high and his cholesterol is high. Or I should say, it was 15 months ago. The doctor sent him for more tests to get new numbers and also tested for diabetes. He has to call tomorrow as the results are in. I think it is due to high sugar intake alone with not enough of the sugars being used. Seems simular to fatty liver?
I AM SO SCARED. I don't want to loose him.
I need advice from people who value real food on how to move forward. It was perfect timing that my Nurishing Traditions book came in a couple weeks ago. I have been doing my best to make sure food is ready for us. But I still struggle. Any tips for keeping real food on the table so he won't go out to buy would be appreciated.
He has stopped drinking pop and juice. And he is not stopping at the gas bar for lunch (so far). He wants to limit how much he eats drastically. I want him to just get full on real food so he won't have room for the other crap.
I can get him to do a shot of kombucha morning and night. Other than that he won't eat cultured foods. Any tips on how to sneak it in? He also wants foods to be cooked. He will eat the salad I serve twice a day, but he hates it. All of his foods must be covered in condiment. They are store bought.
I don't know we're to start. He is an adult and I can't make him do a darn thing. BUT I am the food maker, not him. So I will make what I will and he will have to choose to eat it or leave it.
Please help!
