I just took up good ole fashioned archery this week and am figuring it out pretty quickly! Can't wait to get good enough to go hunting for small game alternative methods d hunting would sure be beneficial to know.

I just discovered this thread with much interest. I read a one of these how to survive in the wild handbook once and the guy wrote that hunting and fishing with a weapon/fishing line are more of a sport/pastime than an effective method of getting enough meat. He instead focuses on traps. Of course, he's talking about survival situation in which you are in the wild with almost nothing, not in a situation where you have space and help for taking out bigger kills. It would depend on your experience too, but the bottom line I think is that in a post catastrophe scenario, the legality of traps wouldn't matter anymore and it would be less time consuming. And, as some rightly mentioned, you would need the time for hauling water, cutting wood, grinding/procuring grain, and what not. 

After a few months there will be nothing to hunt. You will need water,timber, and animals. And keeping them - or any of your stores - will be the key. And you will need to be willing and able to defend whatis yours and your family. We will be transported back to the 1800’s in a second. No meds. Someone posted above about the ‘One Second After’ book. Might be wise to read it.  We have been preparing forabout 6 years.

Right now it’s a ‘take your pick’.... EMP, The Great Reset, economic collapse, or maybe one on top of the other. Either way we have TP 🧻. And I don’t think it was ‘unforeseen’ by some...
