Ok, do cows ever NOT go into labor on their own? Or... if they're pregnant w/twins do they ever not turn correctly & the cow can't/doesn't dilate & deliver?
The Hereford heifer is still pregnant. When she's standing it looks like the calf has turned (but her belly is hanging really low when you look at her from the side). When she lays down instead of there being that odd bulge on only one side she's got it on both. But they're in two different areas. Can the calf break their ribs or will they just continue to stretch? There is movement inside her but it's weird. The bulge on the left side (bottom bulge) you can see moving directly in front of her hip on the right. When the bulge on the right side (top bulge) is moving her ribs are being pushed out on the left. Sometimes they happen at the same time & sometimes only one bulge will be doing it. I know this is confusing... I'm looking at her & confused. If I had a video camera I'd tape it so y'all could see it, it's truly bizarre.
Her teats have been full AND shiny for days. Her bag has been full for days. Her teats look like they're going to split almost, they've got these weird stretch marks/lines on them. She's super loose in her vulva (is that what it's called? the flippy lippy). Her goo is yellow now. She's a hormonal wreck. Neither kid is allowed to even go to that side of the yard b/c she charges at them. They can't even walk on that side of the house & her pen is 60-75 ft away. I threw her a square bale through the fence & she charged at me. She rammed the heck out of the fence. But 90 seconds later she's mooing at me wanting attention & to be scratched/petted.
I don't want to have the vet out just for her to say I'm an impatient ninny but I don't want to loose Two Socks (momma to be). I don't feel safe trailering her to take her to the vets. I feel like I'm a pretty good judge (in person) at telling 'when'. I'm so confused.
Help
