OK so we have a 11 month old Great Pyrenees. He has been around goats with no issues until today that is. He has been around chickens, but I can't let him around them unsupervised because he likes to lick them to death, or at least until their feathers are gone and possible they have a broken bone or two...
OK so we gradually put him in with the cows, they were next to each other in separate fenced areas. We brought him in with them supervised on a leash , then without the leash. Then finally we let him go in with them. Then the stupid&%$# went after one of the cows, like barking I'm gonna kill you trying to go for the throat. OK on his back he went I yelled and whacked him , I was ready to kill him... I dragged him out of the cows area and locked him in a pen.
Decided not a good idea to keep him with the cows... Put him back with the Male goat. He went after him... he has had a day by himself and today I had to put him with the girl goats. Now he is going after the goats. He attacked one of them, she is bleeding on neck shoulder and head.
When I went to go and check on the animals a little while ago, he went after one of my goats and then she butted him and he started with the I'm gonna kill you attack mode. I grabbed him, put him on his back did the whole yelling at him dominance thing. I had him by the collar and she came over and head butted him in the nose, he whined then tried to go after her again, even with me there could have bit me.
Anyway I am so Frustrated, what good is a Livestock guardian dog if he is the one attacking the animals... I don't know what to do with him. He is not fixed, will that change his attacking behavior though...
