Yes the vaccine they got was the same as cdt . I do vaccinate . If you have or have had horses on your property the chance of tetnaus is even higher . I also refuse to loose an animal when there is a safe vaccine for them . Just my opion.
As for wormers you are in Texas and herbal wormer have been shown not to work . If you want to try them do so with monthy fecals run to make sure they are working . Your worm loads are not even close to ours who are up north . What we do for wormings would kill most southern goats .
As for loose minerals check your feed mills and get there premix or the ones listed below . Know what you want for selenium levels , copper ect and try to match them . Blue Bonnet and onex {spelling} are 2 great ones in your area and far exceed the normal goat minerals. It will be much easier on your pocket.
From my understanding the selenium gel has a fast rise and fall effect meaning it rises the levels but drops off fast . were as a bo-se {selenium & vit e } injection has longer lasting effects . I also copper bolus .
18% cattle pelleted feed is great for your milkers , babies and anyone 100 days bred. No urea added. My milk girls get all they want on the stand . If they are thin the get extra off the stand with some corn added . I have tried mixing whole grains ect and my girl pick out there favorite and leave the rest .
What you need to do is hook up with a good breeder who show and has been in goats a long time in your area. They will know what is working and what is not . What I do in NY may not be good for you in Tx.
