Oh and some lumps from sub-Q can be bad as well. When our 13 year old, Freedom went down two years ago dad was out on the tractor and I was worried it would take too long so my mother treated her. Mom hasn't treated milk fever before but I knew how it was supposed to be done and she is an RN..what could be better? She didn't make it through all the layers of the skin and Freedom lost that skin and some muscle because it sloughed off. Freedom was fine but it was a lot of work getting her through recovery. This is not to say that all lumps result in catastrophe, because they don't, just that it is a possibility.
Dad had figured he had a couple hours of tractor work before she would need treated. He knew she was going down but it was too early for him to want to treat her. He was off in his estimate by about a half hour. So it was good that we went ahead and treated her ourselves. She would have made it until he was done but our timing was better.

Trim: She probably aborted a while back. That happened to one of my animals. She was bagging up but within a short while of her "due date" she began to deflate. I had no idea what had happened. I was seriously bummed out.
