Hi Heather, congrats on your cows!! We are also looking to buy 2 registered Jersey's - or 1 bred registered Jersey. We live in Cameron, MO. Do you know if the farmer you bought your cows from has anymore for sale and are they registered?
Thanks!
Cindy
we named her Lola and the steer is T-bone and the little heifer is Cornilia... I will post photos when I figure out how.. Anyway thanks guys for all if your knowledge I wouldn't of been confident enough to do this on my own
Thanks!

Yippee!! we finally got our cow!!! She is a almost 5 year old Jersey from a dairy just south of us.. She calved on last Wednesday with twins a heifer and a steer. She kept falling on the slick concrete in the milking area so he decided to sell her I thought we were getting her and her steer calf but the guy gave us the Little heifer also... she is so sweet almost like a huge dog she follows me around in the field and just stands like a angel during milking.. we let her keep booth babies and we are still getting about 4 gallons!!! the milk at first was very yellow with colostrum but is nice and white now... after she calved and fell he put her in the field and just left her I think she has a touch of mastitis I don't see anything funny in the milk filter and that quarter doesn't feel hot but there is a hard lump about the size if my fist in it... that quarter doesn't look empty after milking I noticed some swelling when we brought her home Monday night and thought it was from not being milked but it is still there the milk doesn't really taste much diffrent... what do you guys think?? I massaged the lard Cayenne mixture and gave her some apple cider vinegar... can you think of anything else I can do???we named her Lola and the steer is T-bone and the little heifer is Cornilia... I will post photos when I figure out how.. Anyway thanks guys for all if your knowledge I wouldn't of been confident enough to do this on my own
