With the Today, I should use that after the calf has drunk and I've milked her out....right? (sorry if its a silly question).
To clarify, though, you could still take sterile samples to send to the lab and then treat and then down the road re-treat if Today was not an effective option.
To clarify further, if you're not seeing mastitis (redness, swelling, pain, chunky milk) or are only seeing minimal signs (a few flakes, high somatic cell count on CMT, etc.) then it's totally OK to wait a few days to get the bacterial results back before "treating" her. In the meantime, just make sure she's getting milked out regularly (twice a day or more).
I think I want to treat the affected quarters and still send in the samples, assuming I can find something to put them in this evening.
