I wish we would get ABOVE zero. We've gotten close a couple times, but it never quite made it. And today the wind is howling from the south, which makes our living area frigid. It's 64 in the house now and dropping... and this is the WARM part of the day. The temp will drop from now, and the wind is supposed to increase throughout the night. I know, blah, blah, blah, I shouldn't live in South Dakota if I can't take the cold. Well, it's still OK for me to complain about it, right? Or at least wish for a north wind...
YUCK. Wisconsin is pretty but I think the ideal place to live would be Southern Missouri...Ozark area. Longer summers...shorter winters. Stay warm! -12 here this morning when we milked.
Oh No it's NOT !! ( at least not anymore!!)
MO used to be warmer in the Winter. I keep telling God that if I wanted a MN winter, I would not have left in the first place!!

When it gets cold like this, I have to keep telling myself at least we don't have large bugs and snakes and stuff like farther south. There's the odd rattlesnake here in summer (we've only seen two in 15 years) and the mosquitoes are enough to drive a person crazy during a wet/humid summer, but that's about it. The best place is the high desert - just flies and ants there, nothing else. But also, no grass. Nice weather there, though...
We did get above zero yesterday, finally, but only just. Our high was 1, but the wind made it feel like -20. And no sunshine. That makes it feel even colder. More sideways snow this morning, and right now it's -8 (don't know what the wind chill is at the moment) and more snow forecast for tomorrow, BUT they say it will get all the way up to 15 above tomorrow! I never thought I'd be happy to see the temp at 15! Hell, I never thought I'd be happy if it got UP to zero! LOL! We sure are getting hammered this month. If it ever gets back up to freezing, it'll feel so warm I'll be out in shorts and a t-shirt!
claytonpaul: A bull was put on her herd Late Last May so she was expected to be due between May1 and August. They quoted me August so I wouldn't be disappointing by a late arrival.
