Hi, we have had three kids die and we don't know why. I was hoping that somebody might have an idea.
The first one was a twin, they were born fine, with no problems. They got their colostrum, were walking around, and were pretty dry. I checked on them about an hour and a half later and the boy was down and cold, his twin was just fine and is doing great. We took him inside and got him warmed up. He was walking and alert after he got warm (temp at 102*), seemed fine, except he wouldn't nurse again, did manage to get some milk down him, but he didn't want it. He lived about one day, then while he was sitting there, seemingly just fine, he suddenly started crying and then he was dead. It was really quick.
The second, was one of a set of triplets, it was born dead. His one sibling was just fine and the other one was a bit weak, but both are doing well now.
The last one was also part of a set of triplets. He was a runt, but was doing quite well, he was even playing a bit today. This morning he had a runny nose and a fever, figured he got a cold because of the chilly, damp weather, so we treated him and he was doing better. Tonight I went out to get him and he was walking around acting perfectly normal and fine. I brought him into the house and was just holding him when he suddenly cried out and died, he was five days old.
I know the second one might be unrelated, but the first and third died very much the same way. We've been having kids for four years. This is the first time we have ever lost any kids and we sure would like to know what happened. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
