3 weeks ago I went to the ER in a snowstorm because my heart was racing out of rhythm and I was going numb/clumsy/confused. Blood work only revealed slightly elevated TSH - thyroid hormone. I've been having panic attacks off and on for weeks, that was the worst of them but now that I know that can happen, any little panic attack feels potentially life-threatening, because if you get atrial fibrillation then you can get a clot and have a stroke or heart attack. I've been reading books and googling like mad trying to figure out what's going on while I wait for appointments with various specialists and blood work to tell me what it can. The best I've come up with is that I'm hyperthyroid, or at least my cortisol, adrenaline, and androsterone are really out of whack.
Remember I posted about some vandal shooting our bull in the leg? We took him to the butcher and they salvaged 360 lbs of meat, which we've been eating. It just occurred to me to look up whether stress hormones can stay in the meat and affect those who eat it - and guess what? YES they do! Some of the experiments they did to find this out were horrifying, and they used dogs - UGH, I hate that kind of thing, but they found that rats fed meat from highly stressed animals had all kinds of reactions, and strong ones like losing the ability to reproduce!
My kids complain about anxiety sometimes, son has night terrors and daughter has panic attacks and DH is feeling very stressed from his job, even tho to me it looks like there's nothing that stressful going on. What if it's all from that meat?? I'm going to quit eating it for a month and see how much of this goes away...
