Any PUBLIC picture on the internet can be shared here easily, provided it continues to be hosted elsewhere.
This includes your own personal Facebook, livejournal, etc... just so long as you have not got a privacy setting on it. (like a friends only lock)
to demonstate, i've searched a "picture of cow" on google, and i'll show you how to share - using the first picture that came up. these pictures of my actions are screenshots of the process - saved to my own livejournal - then shared here using the same method.
first - find your picture - from google, your facebook, your LJ, wherever you've shared it. you might find you can use tinypic, or something else - the WHERE you've uploaded it to is not important.
now that i've found my picture, i click the RIGHT hand mouse button. it gives me a list of options. I select the "copy image URL" which gives my computer the information for where the picture is stored on the internet.
then i go back to KFC. now you can use the insert image buttons, etc - or you can type it manually. you type in the opening bracket - this lets the computer know you're putting a picture in. then you right click for your list of options again - and select paste. it will drop down a line of code for you
here's the last pic - you need to close the bracket, per below. so that's what your text should look like - the website info for the image, with the img open and close bracket either side.
if dropping a bunch of pictures i like to make the open & close brackets in advance, and then just "paste" between them.
Then when you publish the post, the pictures should show to everyone including you
