Hey guys!
dunderi came out the other week and chatted to me about Tallulah. She decided Tallulah was a bit on the thin side and needed some more groceries, and a general health fix-up. So that is what I'm going to do - get Tallulah fat! Well, at a fat healthy weight anyway. I'm making this thread so I can post progress photos of her over time.
I have already transitioned her to her new feed. She gets around 2 scoops (1 scoop = 4 cups) each of steam flaked barley and oats, around that again of lucerne chaff and a little bit of copra, mixed together with a good glob of molasses.
She's also currently grazing during the day in a large paddock with the horses, with a dam and plenty of grass. She's eating her mineral block, which has disintegrated into loose crumbles after the rain XD She noms a bit each morning.
My to-do list:
-Buy a Cydectin Pour-On wormer - worm Tallulah and Ginger.
- Add Vitamin C to evening meal.
- Buy 20l of apple cider vinegar.
- Buy Speedibeet - add to her diet.
- Buy hoof trimmers - trim her long toes.
- Buy a round bale.
- Buy BOSS.
Photos taken yesterday morning - I forgot to take a brush so she's all messy looking XD Her rumen side is much fuller by the end of the day.
I feel bad looking back at older photos. Of course they were taken during the summer rainy season where there was tons of lush, wet, fresh grass, so she had a huge bloated looking grass belly. Just looking at her topline and bones, she's not too bad. But the comparison of her massive belly and now is a bit scary XD
Album of photos of Tallulah and Ginger on Facebook.
This is why you should take photos every month or so and compare to make sure there isn't weight loss like this happening. It went so slowly I didn't even notice until recently. At least Ginger is growing nice and strong on her mother's milk!
Hopefully I'll be posting photos of her looking nice and healthy soon enough!
