here at Ages Ago Acres ;D ;D ;D
Betty FINALLY had her baby this afternoon. ***OF COURSE*** she waited until I gave up and went to town She look and acted normal this morning, so hubby (who was home a few days to help with the birth if needed) and I went to a heirloom gardening event (just needed to buy some tomatoes ) the neighbor said she'd come over and check on her while I was gone (we knew we'd be back in 3 hours or less) Got to the show, bought my plants, got in the truck and on the road when the cell phone rang. Neighbor saying Betty was laying down and her water had broke. We took off headed for home. Next call, she sees a foot (by then her adult son was here with her) next call was to say that Betty had gotten up and go into the barn, to her stall. (we are still flying for home the whole time) next call, calf was almost out, by then the neighbor's adult daughter and grandson were here too. Final call, baby out, it's a GIRL!!!! (neighbor's husband and also arrived, so THEIR entire family was in my barn...ME and ED? still in the truck .... missed it by about 10 mins.
Betty had her all on her own. Nice quick easy birth. Baby's name is Binny-Jean. She is all black and TENNY TINY.. just a bit bigger then a cocker spaniel. She's 3/4 dexter, 1/4 jersey. They said Binny was screaming before she was all the way out LOL> Both mother and daughter are doing great. Betty never even broke a sweat. She doesn't appear to even be the slightest bit tired. Baby was up and on her feet in just a couple minutes. She's such a cute little thing. (glad we decided to keep her already or would be fighting the neighbors for her LOL) Betty timed this well, she got breakfast, had time to munch some hay before the birth and was more then ready for dinner hehehe... The neighbor's jersey/brown swiss X had her baby yesterday afternoon. He LOOKED little until we saw Binny...YIKES> I'll have to try to get some decent pics of her tomorrow (will try to get something next to her so it shows how little she really is) ===off to the barn for another peek.
