This cow is putting me through the paces!!!
I see her standing somewhere and my heart fills with love, she is so beautiful!
Then I have to deal with her!
She can not be tethered ! She has managed to hang herself twice now, scared me half to death and proved to me that I CAN turn a full grown cow!!! The only reason she did not die is because I have been nervus about the rope thing all along so when she is on the rope I watch her closely!
Sence I have taken the calf off her, her milk was fine for a while... lots of cream(literaly 1/2 and 1/2) about 3/4 on a gal each millking. WOW more cream than all summer!
Now the milk is steadly droping..... cream is still good thou. It still feels like she is not letting it all down.. her bag still feels kinda hard at the top. like there is still milk there... but no matter how long I milk and message and pull at it it will not come...
She has been so surly sence I took the calf off..
She will try to hit me with her head! and actualy jump and toss her head at me when she doesnt want to do what I want her to do... it does her no good but she is persistant about it... she jsut seems to want a argument right off, then she will stand to be milked!
by the way will apples make her surly and fisty?
I have no idea how she was treated before I got her nor how she was raised... she does have a dairy tag/number in her ear...
how do I go about changing bad behavior??? \
and can she still be holding her milk and drying herself uP?!?!
Oh and by the way I called the prvious owner and he is quite sure she is bred and from reading the Texas Agrac. site I got from someone here ( VERY HELPFULL) I do think she is bred... besides there IS a bull just across the fence and they pay no attention to each other!
