Rachel,Its AJ and Denise, we appreciated your help with getting through the sale barn for our first time- we listened and learned a lot. Glad to hear your new little Heifer is doing well and We are sorry your SIL's did not make it- so sad- it was a pretty heifer Jersey. Our "Maggie" is doing very well, she even butted me one night in the stomach while i was putting up her bottle on a cross stud-too funny. Something amazing happened ,we got a call very early and an acquaintance who is a driver/broker- told us to get moving because he had found our first MilkCow Jersey - so Denise was sick with a cold - so i went and one out of the three seemed very well- we got her loaded and brought her back- she is a 4yr old that is Freshened Jersey - she is getting along very well with Goldie our 5mo old and bosco the mini donkey- tomorrow we will build our first head gate /stantion and try to put Maggie on her- wish us luck- we are so excited to have this wonderful opportunity to enjoy our own Milk Cow. You all would have laughed- we put out a fresh bail of hay to load into the barn shed- and all of them were rubbing up against it as if they were in heaven- then they played with it and finally knocked it flat! it was so Funny- they looked like kids playing in a park.We hope things go more smoothly for you and your family Rachel , and thank you and your DH for the kindness and info, AJ and Denise
She was out running around in the pasture this afternoon so I told my sons that it was probably safe to name her.
