Hi all, I'm thinking of getting some new milking equipment for when my cow freshens in May. I found out that I can legally sell a small amount milk/dairy products without needing a license so I'm going to try to actually make a little money this next year. I have quite a few people who have asked me about buying milk and butter, so that's what I'm hoping to do. Hopefully I can get a better washing setup, but it'll be summer so I can do it in our outdoor kitchen.
I'm still milking now, I'll dry her off in the next few weeks. I've been using some stainless steel buckets that I had, one developed a couple pinhole leaks(cheap steel apparently) so I discontinued that one. The other one I have is nice but it's got some pitting. So I'd love to start out with some new things. I'm mainly thinking of:
A 3-4 gallon stainless steel bucket that I can hand milk into. I have another one that has the handle on the side, but when I milk I set my bucket into a plastic bucket that stays in the barn,so I can't use that one. What do other people that hand milk do? I just would not want to put my nice milk buckets directly on the ground, and my cow will tap it with her dirty feet sometimes.
A cream separator. I'm on the fence with this, but I just hate skimming. I'd rather wash all the pieces. I probably would use it once a day, and not every day because I have some whole milk customers. I'm looking for something that will hopefully last but not break the bank because I'm not even sure that it will be super helpful with my daily milk schedule. Any recommendations? I'm hoping to stay under $200 (I know, you get what you pay for). I did see this one, anyone else have it?

Is a "dairy brush" actually worth it? I've always just used a sponge.
I'm sure I'll think of more things, I'm off to milk now.
