Well, Conan is 7 months old now, and he's scheduled to be neutered tomorrow, however, we might be a few days late. If we could have gotten him in last month, great, but the vet was all booked up for 2 months, and we couldn't schedule him until now. Unfortunately, Maggie came into heat last week, and yesterday Conan got down to business. FORTUNATELY, he's only 7 months old and he doesn't really know what he's doing yet. But that doesn't mean he won't figure it out sometime today. I DO NOT want puppies in December. I don't want puppies at all, because I have no market here and we can't support the whole family in perpetuity.
I've heard there's a "morning after" shot for dogs, like Lute for cows, does anyone know if that's true? (I hate the thought of doing that, but honestly, I can't handle a litter of puppies, I really can't.)

Changing the subject slightly, I also need some ideas for when we spay Maggie. I have no idea how to keep her "calm" afterward, and I'm thinking a Cone of Shame is not going to go over well with her, in fact, she might hurt herself on it, so I don't know quite what to do. When we had Kiara spayed, she was older and more sedentary, and we just left her to her own devices to heal, which she did very quickly with no problems. She didn't even need a cone. But Maggie is OVER-active, all the time. She is constantly running the coyote packs off and um, exercising to the max. Am I going to have to bring her in the house? The house is a little small for her, and I don't think she'll like being in here, so any other suggestions? The house dog fence around the back yard won't hold her if she really wants out, so I can't just shut her in the small yard, and if I have to keep her in the house for a few days, she'll have to have supervised trips outside, on a leash. And I hope she knows not to go potty in the house...
What bad timing! Grrrrr...
