This is Rena's recipe.
3 C unsulphured molasses (A *complete* source for minerals and sugar)
1 C Raw Apple Cider Vinegar (must be REAL, with the mother, Bragg's is a recommended brand.)
1 cup plain yogurt-Brown Cow or Nancy's are preferred sources (excellent source of probiotics with added calcium)
1-2 tbs epsom salts (excellent source of magnesium)
**********************************
Dissolve epsom salts in ACV first, if desired. Mix all together well.
This makes 4 cups (1 qt) of solution, give a minimum of 1 cup of the solution at least twice a day, as a drench or top dress on grain if the cow is eating.

You can give more, I would only add that, I NEVER give 'GALLONS' of this drench at ANY time! The most I've ever given was 1 qt and I cannot say she got the whole lot of it as I was wearing a fair share!
**********************************
What is in this drench and why?:
Unsulphured Molasses: Sulfur burns their mouths and is very hard on the digestion.
The molasses offers SO many complete minerals with an excellent balance. It is also an excellent source of sugar which can be really crucial in certain situations as well as for 'maintaining' when the animal is still walking the line.
Raw Apple Cider Vinegar: Raw so that the value is not destroyed by heat. This product is excellent at helping maintain PH balance as well as encouraging good digestion. It is well known for it's over all health values.
Plain Yogurt: Non sugared is the absolute best. Stay away from 'generic' brands if at all possible. Excellent offering of probiotics, even though it may seem as though there isn't much, the drench as a whole offers a lot of 'growth' of the good bacteria yogurt offers. There is also a small percentage of calcium as well.
Epsom Salt: Excellent source of magnesium. This is also to help with the utilization of the b vitamins as they work synergistically together. There is not enough of this added to cause ANY gastric issues, ie; runny manure. If you are dealing with a case of low magnesium then adding 2-8 additional tbs is advisable and recommended as I have done it with complete success.
***********************************
This drench is not a 'cure all', in fact it doesn't 'cure' anything. The purpose and reason it was put together was for support of the animal receiving it while in a stressful situation(either external stresses or internal stressors) and for maintenance afterward, if the owner desires.
Over the last several months I have personally been using this recipe on my girl Bella who suffered from Coliform Mastitis and all the terrible aspects that come with it and not only that but she also went septic.
During the most severe part of her illness she never stopped eating or drinking, nor did she ever go down with the inability to rise of her own accord. All I could do was to support her with this drench, monitor her fever and treat the mastitis.
Each animal is going to be different and have different needs, even if they suffer from the same problems. Our jobs are to figure out what is wrong (on our own, or with a vet consult) and treat accordingly. In the mean time, having the ability to support our animal, inside and out, is the ultimate goal and that IS what this drench is all about.
Finally, and probably just about as important is this, I do not use ANY ingredient outside of what specifically is on this list, therefore, I cannot say what the outcome would be, if different ingredients were used.
I do pray that your animal will benefit from this as it has been such a benefit for my girls over and over.
