I have to admit I was skeptical at first. I like to know that things are going to work before I spend my hard earned cash on them but, I was desperate. Bessie's mastitis was beginning to resurface and her milk was getting salty again, in the quarter that had it worst last time. I did not want to go through the tube treatments, the kicking and the tough love all over again.
As I was wandering the internet desperately hoping a miracle solution would appear, but not expecting one, I came across a site where homeopathy was advertised for animals. Homeopathy, hod no idea what it was all about but I called them straight up. The next day they sent be a teeny tiny bottle of very expensive concoction. I most certainly didn't plan to tell DH what I was up to, but unfortunately he intercepted the mail and asked! Darn!
It was too simple. Spray one squirt on her nose or udder. Hmmm, one? I gave her one and a half and went to bed. The next morning I bounded down with my four little test cups and slurped down the milk. Ugh! Bleuck! YUK!
Next morning I was more cautious. Hmm, not so salty. It's probably a coincidence. Third orning, still not sure. So I gave her a second dose, just one squirt this time. What a lot of self control I have!
Then it was the fourth morning and the milk in her bad quarter tasted, well, BAD. It wasn't salty at all , but it was awful. And it was the same next day too.
But by day six wasn't sure. I tasted and tasted. See, I'm also brave! But I still wasn't sure, so I had to seek backup. "Hey everyone, test this milk, is it ok?" but they weren't sure either. Day seven came and we all tasted again. This time, the best milk taste testers in the family couldn't say it was bad. They were pretty sure the milk was fine now. Just to be sure, I turned that lot of milk into yogurt.
So from day eight onwards, Bessie's milk is back to being great and the whole family is happy with it again. But not as happy as I am with cow homeopathy! I still am finding it hard to believe that it made a difference. I would still be doubting the correlation, except for the "bad milk" mid-treatment. I'm sure it was the treatment that made the difference.
Lesson learned: be willing to try new things. My apologies to all the homeopath converts out there who already knew that homeopathy works. I know now too!
